Week Sixty-Eight/ September 2017

Conservation Camp, Week Two, and Judith’s Documentary

The Rainy Season (I think).

Maybe the word ‘week’ is misleading. This week, Monday-Wednesday we wrapped up the camp (holiday program) by focusing on Permagardening. This week was much less hectic than the week before, as we were mostly wrapping up and reviewing sessions rather than teaching completely new material.

Here are some pictures of the bio-briquettes we made last week:

I actually want to talk about MST again. One of the highlights of MST was hearing about the work that volunteers have done throughout the year. Thus, I’d like to highlight the work of Judith, an agribusiness volunteer in our cohort. She turned 72 during MST, and also served in the Peace Corps in Tonga 50 years ago. She’s an incredible woman and has done amazing work in Uganda. Take five minutes and check out her video.
